The Norlands

I’ve been travelling to Scarborough quite regularly for work, and after staying in several hotels across the area, I can confidently say this family-run hotel has been the standout experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with genuine warmth by Brian, the owner, whose hospitality truly sets this place apart. He’s not just friendly, he’s attentive, approachable, and clearly passionate about making guests feel welcome and cared for. The rooms were spotless, easily the cleanest I’ve come across in any hotel I’ve stayed at. Everything was well-maintained, fresh, and thoughtfully arranged, which made settling in after long work days incredibly easy. It’s clear that cleanliness and comfort are top priorities here, and it shows in every detail. What really impressed me was the level of customer service. Brian made it clear that if I had any concerns or requests, he’d be more than happy to help and he meant it. There was a genuine sense of care, not just professionalism, which made the whole experience feel personal and relaxed. It’s rare to find that kind of attentiveness in larger chain hotels. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and peaceful, ideal for both business travellers and holidaymakers. This hotel offers a welcoming environment that feels like a home away from home. It’s the kind of place where you’re not just another guest, you’re treated like part of the community. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here and supporting this wonderful establishment. Stayed this weekend and Brian could not be more welcoming. Let us know our room was ready early, welcomed us at the door and even carried my bags up. He goes above and beyond to make you have an excellent stay. The room we stayed in was very clean and was a lovely size, it was fab to have a bed as big as our one at home and the bonus was a socket for my toothbrush (you don’t get many hotels with these plugs in). We just had breakfast on the Sunday morning and it was cooked to perfection. Can not fault the place and when we visit Scarborough again will definitely book here

What an unexpected delight we found in this hotel. Modern and tastefully decorated comfortable rooms. The hosts could not have been more welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Amazing breakfast choices and a well stocked bar. If you come to Scarborough this place is in an ideal location for access to north and south bays. We only stayed 1 night and Brian & Costa made us feel welcome and could not help us more. The hotel is ideally placed if you are going to the open air theatre for a show. The room was spotless and the food was excellent. We couldn't have asked for more. We loved our stay and will definitely be going back.

Warm and friendly welcome from Brian and Costa. A great location, handy for North Bay, Peasholm Park and Open Air Theatre and not far from the town centre. Lovely quiet area with sea views from dining room, bar and some bedrooms. Food delicious. Wish we had known about it years ago - will be going again. A gem of a hotel with great hosts!

We stayed at The Norlands for the first time over the August bank holiday weekend and had the most amazing weekend. Brian and Costa are amazing hosts, very friendly, helpful and make you feel very welcome. We stayed in the family room at The Norlands, the room was very spacious and modern, the rooms are very clean and are equipped with everything that you may need. The breakfasts served at The Norlands are amazing, lots of choice and the breakfast is delicious. My daughter particularly enjoyed the mushrooms served with my cooked breakfast and requested these as an addition to her breakfast on the second morning of staying, Brian and Costa were very accommodating and added these to my daughters breakfast on the second morning of out trip, they really are delicious. The Norlands is based in the North Bay of Scarborough and is in a great location and is just a short walk from the Open Air Theatre, Alpamare Water Park, The Beach and Peasholm Park We had the most amazing stay and will definitely be back Thanks Helen, Emily and Stuart xx

Fantastic owners. They were a pleasure to speak to and we felt very welcomed. The hotel itself is very clean and warming. There has been a lot of effort and work been put into the aesthetics. I'd say what brings everything together is that you can tell that Bry and Costa really care. The food that is served is delicious and very accommodating to my dietary needs. The location is perfect - we were there for the open air theatre and it was a few minutes walk away which was so convenient. Overall a great stay and will be going back! Tip - book directly to get it cheaper than on third party sites.

Came here for the Blossoms gig at the open air, Brian & Costa were so accommodating and made sure we had a great time. We loved karaoke in the bar after the gig, although I’m not sure if everyone else in there loved watching us haha! We will definitely be back. Thanks again x
